I don't mind artsy so long as it serves a purpose.. and actually, the camera work and the like in Lost in Translation was not too bad, it's just that nobody cared because of the lame plot.

So Rok is saying he likes this movie then?
I haven't seen it, so I dunno what to think. |

Whether or not rok has seen it, it does not matter. He just likes to rip on just about every post I make.

Despite Rok's overt homosexuality, I think if he were ever to make love to a woman, it would be you, Geebs.

Lost in Translation doesn't have a plot. It's like a French movie. French movies suck because they don't have plots, even though I wonder why they don't have plots. I think it's because they're character-driven. All the characters just walk around and do their thing, just like in the real world. There's a lot of meaning in the film, but none of that matters because there is no device for the two characters to have sex.
Movies without plots suck. Anyone who likes them is retarded, especially if they are not set in outer space and have Borgs. Surprise endings are also necessary, because we need a payoff. We need a hook, with lots of sex, because watching characters talk about life is not enough. If I wanted to do that, I could just give a Greek statue a job. Lost in Translation is not funny. I want this movie to be funny. I can't believe anyone could like this stuff. I wanted to come out of the movie with a smile. I didn't come out with a smile. I'm going to watch TV, or play Final Fantasy X, so I can watch characters talk about something other than something that doesn't have to do with a plot. I wonder why I like plots, even though they are still talking or visuals and really have no meaning, even though I think they do. It must be because they introduce sex, men with yellow hair, or giant monsters. Goodnight. P.S. Rok Hagor sucks because I'm assuming that he actually cares if we like whatever we like or not. I think he's trying to persuade us into making babies. P.S.XXX If Rok Hagor ever made love to a woman, it would be Catherine Zeta-Jones (behind my fellow men). Golberry would be a distant second (also behind my fellow men). |

Why the h8 Rok? Why?
A distant second? Pah. If I were gay and liked only men and the idea of sleeping with women totally disgusted me.. even then, GB would be my number 1 woman pick to sleep with. As for number 1 man.. I dunno.. hm... perhaps some sort of man version of GB... Hard to say, since I don't swing that way. Off hand, I suppose just painting a mustache on GB would work. |

French movies do not suck. Brotherhood of the Wolf was an awesome movie, with plenty of plot, even if it did not meat your sex quota (spelling pun intended).
GB with a moustache? Ick. Sorry, but ick. And also, sorry, but my first choice would be Talisa Soto. |

I always thought if Ra picked a woman to sleep with, he'd go with a chick who has a c*ck. Like Lilly.

If I was gay, which I am, I'd chase Basil's tail. If I were straight, I'd go after a girl like... hmmm.. I don't know. But GB would be on the list, as would Nero. And Rok. But I still don't know if Rok would be a good man lover, or a good femman lover. ROK PLEASE HELP ME, I AM SO LOST WITHOUT YOU ;_;

Rok, you're always being sarcastic. Even when you're serious. I think. You HAVE been serious, haven't you? Or are you just a rock?

I actually prefer sarcasm to being transfixed on a lost cause.
Unfortunately, GB is not on my list, greatly due to the fact that she has a boyfriend and seems very happy with him, which would indicate to me that pinning away for her or spending a great deal of time entertaining thoughts of a sexual nature involving her would be a waste of time. I also think it would be interesting if we could go at least one week without any posts with a sexual reference to GB. She is a beautiful woman, and I understand how men could be strongly attracted to her, but lately I've been getting annoyed with how many times her boobs, ass, or various other body parts seem to end up in our threads. As for Lost In Translation, the whole point of the movie is character development and the director is obviously making an attempt to connect with folks who see parts of themselves within the characters... people who connect just as some of us do on the internet, in relationships that don't often make much sense but seem very strong, and right overall. I hated the movie, because like Rok, I dislike movies that make me feel like I've just read through a bad interpretation of a J. D. Salinger novel. So, rather than show my support for your opinion by mentioning how much I'd like to sleep with you, because frankly, I don't, I think you are spot on Geebs. I have no idea why it was nominated for so many awards, other than the fact that it was an 'art' piece, and 'artistic' films no matter how bad always get nominated. Only opinion. -Raist |

Re: Lost In Translation | ||

I think everyone totally lost me, and I'm not sure if it's a good idea to post anything, especially since the thread is not about the film anymore. I also typed something, previewed it, went back on my browser, and the thing @#%$ up.
Klaitu does his Klaitu opinion thing, unless I'm the only one who believes this. If a film is nominated for awards, it's because someone was paid or the film was good. I thought it was good, but nobody I've talked to liked the film. The critics liked it, but most of them are idiots. I don't feel like sitting here and going through this, because everyone has their reasons for something; it's just that I was going through it in a sarcastic post. I was acting that way not to attack anyone, but I was probably just making fun of any possible replies. I don't really remember. I'm not sure I care, and I feel no sexual desire or hate against another person. I don't know what's going on, really, because everyone probably has a different perspective on what I actually wrote. |
