I thought from your second post you disliked the movie. I've seen the theme in too many really good novels to like it in a so-so movie.
It was not your fault, Rok.

It looked to me like you made a sarcastic joke about GBs post and people went off on a tangent, to tell you the truth.

I did not think the sarcasim was needed. We are all have opinions.
Last I checked, I was not the only one who said I didn't like it. And to make a 'sarcastic' joke about my intelligence or whatever the hell it was, was uncalled for. But whatever, you want me to take a joke? fine. I took it. |

Raist, I generally let people defend themselves or defend them when they ask for help.
If GB was offended by all the comments made about her, I feel quite certain she would say something. And having talked to her in private once before when I had the same concern you did, she told me flat out that it doesn't bother her. I've also been her friend for many years now. If I thought it was going to offend her, I wouldn't say it. |

Quote: Quote: This was the point, Goldberry; you were able to answer your own statement. Everyone has an opinion, end of story, no point in wondering anymore. etc. If it was nominated for too many awards, it's because someone paid the academy, or someone liked it for whatever reason. I thought it was a good film, so I liked it for whatever reason. Of course, it gets nominated, everyone thinks they are going to see an Oscar movie, and it's not an Oscar movie. Last year was not a normal Oscar year, despite what LOTR did, and whether or not that was Oscarish. Almost everything else that was nominated was not the traditional Oscar movie, either. Check out the list of nominated films, and check it out. |

I know how the oscars work Rok.
I also watched them for the past god knows how many years all the way through. I know why people/movies get the awards they do. You can almost predict them. All *I* am saying, is that with all of the movies it was up against, not to mention the movies that did not make the cut, Im surprised that it was up for the awards it was up for. Anyways, why the big hit on me anyways? The starting of this thread was in response to Klaitu's Special K posting. He also did not like the movie, so why am *I* the stupid one here? |

Re: Lost In Translation

There are several reasons...
Goldberry doesn't smoke, I think. This is sexy for some reason. Goldberry is mostly words on my screen. I don't understand this. Goldberry is not married to a hot man, at least from what I know. Goldberry cannot sing and dance. Goldberry is a real person. What's the point of... real people? Goldberry is Canadian. She doesn't speak with an English accent. OH YES, MOST IMPORTANT THING: Goldberry reminds me of a girl. I would only want a woman, and not a girl. She is too young. |

Re: Lost In Translation

I think everyone is confused and we should let this thread die a slow and agonizing death.
And Redlow, GB may be fine and dandy with it, but I made my comments because it was annoying to *me.* I have nothing against Geebs, just against horny males who seem to have to express their frustrations every day. That is all. -Raist |

It's more like mid-40s Rok.
-Raist EDIT: I must say though, that it always makes me sad to see people who consider a part of their body as being their best attribute. |

Unless you're Ron Jeremy... I don't think there's much doubt what is his best attribute - it's made him millions of dollars ;).

Can you lock this thread so I'm not tempted to post here anymore?

Re: Lost In Translation

k.. I agree.. this thread should be locked.
Raist: Well excuse GB for just going with the flow of that thread. Everyone else was listing physical features as their "best attribute." Probably because I started the thread and I set a precedent there by listing physical features in mine. Rok: yer annoying. |
